Inside Line Promotions – PARK CITY, Kan. (May 31, 2017) – Seth Bergman chased races throughout the middle of the country last weekend after a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader in Colorado was rained out.

Bergman ventured to Texas for an ASCS Gulf South Region tripleheader that began on Friday at RPM Speedway in Crandall. He picked up a position to finish third in a heat race, which lined him up on the inside of the seventh row in the main event.

“Passing was at a premium because the top groove was pretty much the only way around the track,” he said. “We were at a disadvantage starting on the inside row so I took what I could get without risking tearing up our race car.”

Bergman placed ninth during the opening round of the 15th annual Memorial Day Classic.

The team headed to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite on Saturday for Round 2 of the event, which started with Bergman advancing from fifth to third place in a heat race. That earned enough points to lock into the feature redraw. However, Bergman pulled the third-highest number – six – to start the main event on the outside of the third row.

“The redraw was critical because like Friday night the track was one groove,” he said. “I think if we could have drawn in the first two rows we would have had a better shot at winning. We got a couple of positions early and then it was mostly follow the leader around the track until the checkered flag was waved.”

Bergman scored a third-place result, which was his third podium of the season.

Sunday’s Memorial Day Classic finale at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore rained out so Bergman drove north to Kansas for an NCRA Series event at 81 Speedway. He powered from sixth to second place in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the front row in the main event.

“We had a strong heat race result and that put us in a great spot for the feature,” he said. “I wasn’t able to get the jump at the start of the race and just didn’t have enough to be able to contend for the win. We held on for a top-five result to help make the weekend a success.”

Bergman settled for a fourth-place finish, which was his third fourth-place result in his last five races.
