Lawrence Logs Second Top Five in 305 Sprint Car at Kennedale Speedway Park

Inside Line Promotions – KENNEDALE, Texas (May 16, 2018) – Zane Lawrence had a busy weekend racing a mini sprint last Friday before he jumped back in a 305ci sprint car on Saturday.

The weekend began on Friday when Lawrence climbed behind the wheel of his crew man’s, Morgan Roan, mini sprint at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas. Lawrence started on the outside of the front row for a heat race and he went on to pick up the win.

The feature inversion started Lawrence on the inside of the second row. He was running fifth before the chain broke, which ended his night early.

“It was pretty fun to get back behind the wheel of a mini sprint,” he said. “I can’t thank my buddy, Morgan, for letting me race it and have a little bit of fun. It’s unfortunate that we ended up breaking a chain, but we will get it back out there sooner than later.”

Lawrence strapped back into a 305ci sprint car on Saturday during a RaceSaver Sprint Car Series race at Kennedale Speedway Park, where he piloted a race car owned by Bob Odom.

“We started in the back of the heat race due to their points system like last time,” he said. “But we made some ground and ended up making our way to fourth.”

That lined Lawrence up on the inside of the fourth row for the feature event. He advanced three positions to finish fourth, logging his second top five of the year.

“We had a pretty decent run again this weekend,” he said. “Again, I can’t thank Bob enough for letting me race for him. I’m really enjoying it and having a lot of fun with it. Now hopefully we can pick up a couple wins.”
