ASCS Gulf South Invades RPM and Devil’s Bowl Speedway This Weekend

Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (May 22, 2018) With the 2018 season finally able to get off the ground this past weekend, the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region is looking at two nights of racing this Memorial Day Weekend.
RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas on Friday, May 25 for $2,000 to win, followed by the famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas on Saturday, May 26 for $3,000 to win, teams from across Texas, Oklahoma, and beyond are slated to be in action at the Edwards family owned ovals.
A part of the 2017 Memorial Day lineups, the top spot one year ago at RPM Speedway went to Ray Allen Kulhanek with Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and Channin Tankersley making up the podium over the field of 29 drivers.
Swapping the top two spots the following night at the Devil’s Bowl, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. led the No. 21t to the finish with Seth Bergman making it to the final podium step.
With the season only one night deep, Channin Tankersley’s victory at Golden Triangle Raceway Park puts the Highlands, Texas driver atop the points over Koty Adams, Tommy Bryant, Caleb Martin, and Jacob Harris to make up the top-five in tour standings.
Friday, May 25 at RPM Speedway opens at 6:00 P.M. with racing getting underway at 8:00 P.M. (CT). Admission is $15 with Seniors, Military, and kids 13-15 admitted for $10. Children 12 and under get into the grandstands for free. Pit Passes are $30.
The night’s lineup of classes also includes USRA Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and NOW600 Winged A-Class. RPM Speedway is located at 1274 CR-4104 in Crandall, Texas. More information can be found by calling (972) 472-3700 or online at http://www.rpmdirt.com.
Saturday, May 26 at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway opens at 6:00 P.M. with racing at 8:00 P.M. Along with the Gulf South Region, the night includes USRA Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, and Factory Stocks. Admission is $20 with Seniors, Military, and kids 13-15 admitted for $10. Children 12 and under get into the grandstands for free. Pit Passes are $30.
